Asetek Forte® Formula Steering Wheel
The Asetek Simsports® Forte® Formula Steering Wheel was inspired by racers and sim racers alike to deliver the feel of real racing while incorporating feedback from sim racers. With this and other feedback in mind, we started from scratch to create the best possible Formula steering wheel for sim racing, but like our other products, we didn't want it to be too expensive. We're happy to say we've achieved just that - meet the Forte® Formula steering wheel!
Many steering wheels, whether in racing simulators or in real life, get their strength and rigidity from the front plate and grips, often in a closed design (the grips are mechanically connected at both ends). Unfortunately, this also limits them in size and design. To achieve maximum rigidity, we use an injection-molded chassis made of a composite of carbon, glass, and plastic that provides very high natural rigidity and strength, with a laser-etched forged carbon finish. This allows you to allow the user to easily change grips, add clutches and DRS paddles while not having to rely on the handlebars for strength and rigidity.
The chassis is equipped with a metal spider that fixes the removable grips to the inside of the steering wheel. Overall, this results in a stiff, non-flexible steering wheel where the grips can be replaced and/or upgraded over time to give you the steering wheel you want! Right now we have two different sizes, the standard size which provides a perfect fit and grip for medium sized hands, and an XL version for larger hands.
The ergonomic grips are made of comfortable, soft and durable silicone rubber that is easy to clean and sanitize, giving you ultimate comfort and control whether you're wearing race gloves or not. You have the ability to easily change out the grips to quickly implement future upgrades, including color, size, shape and hardness.
The front of the steering wheel is a 1mm thick woven carbon plate that provides a beautiful home for all the buttons and switches.
With 128 custom input options, the Asetek Simsports® Forte® Formula Steering Wheel offers the ability to customize and assign all the buttons, switches, encoders and paddles you need to be at the top of your game via our RaceHub™. With 12 push buttons, two 2-way toggle switches and two 7-way toggle switches, three rotary encoders and six thumb encoders, you can control all the settings you need.
All buttons, switches and encoders meet the highest quality standards and have been fully tested and validated in our automated key test machines to ensure years of reliable daily use.
The rear panel comes standard with dual non-contact magnetic shift paddles for fast and seamless shifting. The wheel can be easily upgraded to a dual clutch for perfect race starts and features two additional assignable paddle shifters that can be used for effortless overtaking and DRS activation, for example. Like the wheel chassis itself, all the shift paddles and associated mechanics are injection-molded from an ultra-light and rigid carbon composite material.
The Forte® steering wheel features no less than 49 fully customizable ARGB LEDs, including tach and flag lights. Not only does this allow you to customize the look of your steering wheel, but it also allows you to make split-second decisions that can make the difference between success and failure. The LEDs can of course be adjusted, dimmed, color matched and assigned in RaceHub™, with many more features to come. Each button and LED can be clearly marked with the included sticker, so every function on the bike is illuminated.
